Addressing the Diabetes Crisis in Cambodia

Cambodia faces a growing diabetes crisis, largely due to lack of awareness and unhealthy diets. We partner with Kidshelp, a local NGO, to address the diabetes crisis by providing education, screening, and ongoing support to patients.

Project overview

The project runs screening camps and works with identified patients over six months to monitor improvements in their diabetes management. It is spearheaded by Elsevier colleagues, who are working with seven local nursing students to train them in using ClinicalKey, diving deep into understanding diabetes management.

Through regular monitoring, education sessions, and personalized support, the project aims to improve diabetes management and awareness, ultimately enhancing the health and well-being of communities in Cambodia.

Our new partner, Kidshelp, is expanding its diabetes awareness and management project in Cambodia with the support of local hospitals and ministry organizations.. By bridging the gap between medical knowledge and rural communities, this project is not just managing diabetes – it’s changing lives.
