Organized by CEBHA with the National Public Health Institute and the University of Burundi Faculty of Medicine, the EBHC workshop was the first of its kind in Burundi. The 20 participants were health care workers and librarians. Through the Innovative Libraries program, the Elsevier Foundation has been able to significantly contribute to the launch of CEBHA’s project by providing funding. Dr. Forland explained: “The role of Elsevier here has been crucial in getting this started, while we are still searching for other funds. This grant has been extremely good seed money helping us to establish this collaboration with the eight countries we are working in (in Africa).”
