The healthcare industry is undergoing rapid transformation driven by technological advancements, evolving care models, and shifting patient expectations. The market continues to advance in areas such as telemedicine and data-driven healthcare with a strong emphasis on value-based care. As demand for more sophisticated, patient-centered services grows, the need for a highly skilled, well-trained healthcare workforce is essential to drive innovation, improve patient outcomes, and adapt to the changing healthcare landscape.

In partnership with the North Carolina A&T State University, and the North Carolina Central University, the Fostering Undergraduate Excellence and Leadership in Nursing (FUEL) program focuses on enhancing nursing students’ success through structured NCLEX preparation, advanced professional development opportunities, and holistic student support.

What we do

FUEL supports nursing students across three core areas.

  • First, structured NCLEX preparation strengthens licensure readiness through access to adaptive learning tools and integrated exam support.
  • Second, professional development opportunities—including expert-led webinars and events—expose students to emerging healthcare issues, leadership pathways, and equity-centered practice.
  • Third, targeted financial assistance helps address barriers that may otherwise disrupt academic progress. By combining academic and holistic support, the initiative builds confidence, resilience, and workforce readiness.

How we deliver

The program is embedded within NCA&T’s and NCCU’s Schools of Nursing and aligned with their commitment to preparing a highly skilled healthcare workforce .

Licensure preparation resources are integrated into the curriculum to reinforce consistent exam readiness. Professional development programming connects students with experienced leaders and current health system challenges. Holistic support is delivered through a structured process that identifies and assists students with demonstrated need.
